Tree-Nation initiative

Maheco is part of the Tree-Nation’s tree planting initiative.

The Tree-Nation concept was created in 2006 by Maxime Renaudin from a project in the driest and poorest country on earth, Niger. The project evolved rapidly to help local planter teams around the world.

Tree-Nation is a citizen solution to climate change. It uses technology to create a platform to join forces to reforest the world and fight climate change.

This project helps restore forests, create jobs, support local communities and protect biodiversity.

Estellé Parquet, a partner in this initiative, has given us the opportunity to plant trees thanks to the purchase of its product.

Currently, we have 42 Senegalia Catechu trees planted in Cameroon, Africa. With the planting of this amount of trees, 0.04 hectares have been reforested and a total of 6.3 tons of CO2 has been captured.

The typology Senegalia Catechu is a tree that has a compensation of 150 kg of CO2 throughout its life and a life expectancy of 50 years.

Planting trees is one of the most effective ways to do this, as they act as carbon sinks, help improve soil quality and are animal life ecosystems.

It contributes to water purification and supply; to oxygen production, to the absorption of harmful gases and cooling; to medicinal properties, to developing countries and to mental health.

With this small gesture, we hope to contribute to improving air quality, conserving biodiversity and combating climate change.
